Introduction to Ringland
Ringland is a small rural village located in Norfolk, approximately seven miles NW of Norwich. It is nestled in the Wensum Valley between the A47 and A1067. The River Wensum which runs through the bottom of the village is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) with many rare and endangered species of plant and wildlife.
Within the village there are several pieces of common land owned by the Parish Council on which the parishioners have fishing, shooting and grazing rights, as defined by the Council. The Village Hall formerly known as the Reading Room is where the Parish Council holds its meetings and it is also available for hire to other groups and organisations.
The Swan Inn, near the River Green is the village Pub and the village is served by the shops in the villages of Taverham and Drayton, approximately 2 miles away.
On the outskirts of the village is Ringland Hills, a well known "local beauty spot" consisting of 10.7 hectares of woodland.
